"I design and handcraft bears, foxes and other animals. Most are made from mohair which is sheared from the angora goat then woven into a fabric backing. It comes in many colors and styles. After cutting and sewing, I stuff with poly-fil and joint the limbs and head using hardboard disks, bolts, washers and locknuts. Then I add either antique shoe button or glass eyes. Next I hand sew the ears to the head and embroidery the nose and mouth with perle cotton.

"My inspiration comes from a piece of mohair, vintage clothing or accessories. Some times a customer will ask for a certain color or style. Sometimes a family member will make a suggestion. I am always trying to come up with new ideas to keep my work interesting."
